We lay natural turf, artificial turf and wildflower turf dependent upon the customer’s requirements and budget.
For natural turf we take the time and trouble to ensure that there is a well-prepared bed with a sufficient depth of well-draining soil often mixed with coarse sand. Our local Bingley supplier, Greenlands, is able to supply top quality natural turf and top-soil that we are happy to recommend with total confidence for lawns and pathways.
For artificial turf we lay a sub-base of limestone aggregate followed by a finer course of granite chippings to provide the required drainage. All this is contained within a timber framework that the turf is attached to in order to prevent movement. Our preferred supplier is Yorkshire Artificial Turf of Huddersfield who can supply an extensive range of turfs of superior quality and competitive price.
Wildflower Turf Ltd of Basingstoke for whom we are an accredited installer here in the north of England, supplies our Wildflower Turf. Wild flower seed is notoriously difficult to raise but Wildflower Turf Ltd have perfected a technique of growing a turf which is supplied in rolls in just the same way as lawn turf. The results are instantaneous and all our customers have reported a full show of colour in the first year. The turf is a specialist blend of up to 30 native wild flowers and 6 native grasses, specially selected to allow the wild flowers to flourish without being dominated by the grasses. There are blends to suit open aspects, shaded sites, and areas where low-growing species are necessary. There is even a blend for roof gardens. The results of laying wildflower turf are astounding. Wildflower Turf Ltd have also developed Wildflower Earth, a pre-seeded growing medium that delivers the wildflower seed in its perfect germinating environment. It has been extensively tested and provides much more reliable results than conventional seeding methods. It is perhaps a more economical option due to its requirement for less ground preparation but delivers the same impressive results with a wide variety of wildflower seed mixes available. All these products are also low maintenance requiring only 1 to 2 cuts per year.
